At STAY HOTELS, we believe that the hotel industry has a role to play in reducing its environmental impact .
Therefore, we have been implementing concrete measures in four areas of our operation: water consumption, energy efficiency, waste management, and guest mobility with the free JUST MOVE bicycle service. On this page, we explain what we do in each of these areas and what goals we have set for 2030. Eleven of our fourteen hotels have Biosphere certification, awarded after independent verification, which you can consult on the Certifications and Recognitions page.
Every Drop Counts
The conscious use of water is fundamental for the preservation of water resources and the sustainability of our planet. Most of our hotels have sanitary equipment with low-consumption systems and aerators that help reduce water flow. Furthermore, to maximize water savings, daily room cleaning is only done upon guest request. Without a request, we comply with hotel classification rules: the room is cleaned and towels and bed linen are changed at least twice a week.
Smart Energy, Efficient Comfort
Did you know that in some hotels we use sensors in the windows that automatically turn off the air conditioning when they are opened, ensuring that energy is only used when necessary, and using motion sensors so that the lights only turn on when people are present, avoiding energy waste? After all, every watt counts!
At our hotels, we are committed to energy efficiency! Most of our hotels have LED lighting, which not only illuminates but also saves energy. In all hotels, we provide general switches in the rooms so you can control your consumption during your stay, we turn off the electrical equipment in the dining room after 12 pm, and we keep the entrance doors closed when the air conditioning is on, ensuring energy conservation and the ideal temperature inside the hotel.

Recycling Has Never Been So Easy
In addition to the waste separation required by law, we have placed recycling points in the rooms to make it easier for guests to separate their waste, and we collect the corks from the JUST DELICIOUS bars for recycling.
In 2026, we stopped serving drinks in plastic bottles or cans in our hotels. Water is served in returnable glass bottles, which are returned to the supplier and reused. Goods that we no longer use, such as bed linen, pillows and towels, are donated to social solidarity institutions for reuse.
